Railway Roundabout Fountain – Hobart, Tasmania

After more than a decade of inactivity, and an impending 50th birthday, in 2012/13 the Hobart City Council injected much needed funding towards the restoration of Hobart’s iconic Railway Roundabout Fountain.

There was one false start due to unexpected plumbing rust, and a second delay due to a group of vandals deciding they’d take a bath with a couple of hammers and a few bottles of detergent, but finally in late 2013 the fountain was back in fine form, spraying skyward in a wash of multicoloured finery!
